Well worth the scenic drive, By The Yard carries a wide variety of fabric selections, unique gifts, and Sandra's favorite notions. Above all, By The Yard caters to each individuals' needs and wishes.
Sandra relates, "After my kids grew up I was looking for a way to fill my time and cope with Empty Nest Syndrome. Not sure what I wanted to do, I began a part time job at a nearby quilt shop. Although at the time I was simply looking for a 'cure' for my Empty Nest Syndrome, little did I know that it was going to plant a seed for a bigger dream. Over the next several years my passion for quilting was 'watered' by the socialization that came through spending time with those fun-loving, unique, and creative individuals called 'Quilters'. I had grown to love the quilting-community and my creative niche was satisfied. I began to lead quilting classes/groups and the dream continued to grow. From my small savings spent on bolts of fabric to sell from my home, to the beautiful shop 6 years later across the road, By The Yard is my dream come true!"
"When threading the needle don't lick the thread. Licking the thread makes the thread swell and harder to put through the needle. Instead, moisten the eye of the needle."
